Farnsworth House Floor Plan

Floor Plan is a part of orthographic drawings that we need to complete. Farnsworth House set as approachable architecture for student to understand the basic details including dimensions of architectural details and implication of line weights

P2A

Elevation Plan

Elevation Plan is an essential tool to interpret information about the height of each architectural details, such as stairs, beams and roof, which can't be shown in Floor Plan.

P2A

South Section Plan

Section Plan is similar to elevation plan, but it is the Farnsworth House being dissected into half to reveal more details of the interior of the space as well as the foundation.

P2B

Axonometric Drawing

Axonometric is the second stage of the process, and I think it is the most challenging among all the drawing of Farnsworth House. I was supposed to draw the axonometric drawing with an angle of 45 degree

Nevertheless, I've gained my first experience to develop a pre-requisite skill that is useful for my future project.

One-point Perspective Drawing

One-point perspective is a component of third part of Farnsworth House two perspective drawing. In this drawing, I learned to Farnsworth House in one-point perspective accurately.

P2C

Two-point Perspective Drawing

The second component of perspective drawings is two-point perspective drawings.I've learnt to see an architecture from different perspective and able to improve my rendering skills as well.

Reflection

from this project, I gained the experience of illustrating technical orthographic drawings and learnt to always apply different line weights for different architectural details to emphasise the depth of the object in the drawings. Moreover, I've seen my progress of improvement in rendering skills by drawing perspective drawings. I am really astonished by the ideas of Farnsworth House served as a multi-purpose architecture and the materials that used to engaging harmoniously with the surrounding nature.
